One Billion Trees
The Indonesian Government launched a more massive tree planting program called “One Billion Indonesian Trees for the World” to help replenish our forests. The new program was kicked off following successes in previous tree planting programs since 2007. The government has allocated a budget for the purchase of 36 million seedlings this year and hopes to get 300 million more from the private sector, state companies, NGOs, regional governments ans other donors.
Additional 320 million seedlings are expected from community and rural forest programs, 300 million from forest and river basin rehabilitation programs, and 50 million from people’s forest partnership program. The “One Billion Indoensian trees for the World” program is also aimed at improving the welfare of the people especially those living near forest areas. Not only does the program aim to urge reforestation but hopes the trees will contribute to the reduction of climate change and prevent landslides.

I think it is very good program from Indonesian Government. We can see that Indonesian Government also care with our environment. As an Indonesian, I also believe that we can also contribute to save our nation and help them to success the program. We can start from the little thing,right?
